SESSION #3: SPENT FUEL TRANSPORTATION BIOGRAPHIES Brady Hanson Dr. Hanson has a Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of California Berkeley. He has worked at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory for 25 years where his research has focused on spent fuel degradation issues, first for the proposed repository at Yucca Mountain and then for extended storage and transportation. He currently serves as the Lab Lead for Experimental work for the DOE-NE Spent Fuel and Waste Science and Technology program. Roy Pratt Roy Gil Pratt has been a part of the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program for 23 years in the Reactor Refueling Division. Sixteen of those years were spent on packaging spent fuel for dry storage, shipping, and disposal. Three of those years spent on aircraft carrier refueling and four of those years spent on submarine refueling. Gerard Jackson Gerard Jackson joined the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in 2008. He is assigned to the Division of Security Policy (DSP) in the office of Nuclear Security and Incident Response (NSIR). He is currently assigned to the Fuel Cycles and Transportation Security Branch, working in Transportation Security Policy. His duties include the planning, coordination, and management of the development and implementation of policies and programs for transportation security and physical protection of fissile material during all phases of transportation. He conducts technical and regulatory reviews in support of regulatory programs, transportation route approvals, rule making, and licensing. He manages and supports partnership; outreach and coordination with US Government Agencies include the Department of Energy, NNSA, DOD, Department of Homeland Security, and Department of State. Mr. Jackson also represents NWorking Group, supporting Tribal Policy development, implementation, and outreach for transportation issues. He also works with the International Atomic Energy Agency in developing international guidance for transportation security.

Mark Richter Mark is a Senior Project Manager-Decommissioning and Used Fuel, at the Nuclear Energy Institute. He has 32 years of experience in nuclear energy, including 24 years with Constellation Energy and its predecessor, Baltimore Gas & Electric, prior to joining NEI. He is currently the Project Manager of NEI's Decommissioning Task Force, Used Fuel Transportation Task Force, Used Fuel Working Group, Dry Storage Task Force, Dry Storage Vendor Task Force and materials aging and quality issues. He earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Applied Sciences in Metallurgy from the University of Delaware, a Doctorate in Materials Science and Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Baltimore. Torre Taylor Ms. Taylor has over 33 years of experience in radiation safety/health physics for the safe use of radioactive material. This experience includes licensing, inspections, guidance, and rulemaking in areas of industrial, commercial, academic, and medical uses of radioactive material. Prior to arriving at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission in university, and consulting in radiation safety and compliance. Ms. Taylor was recently assigned to the Division of Spent Fuel Management as a Senior Project Manager.
