SESSION #5: INSPECTION OVERSIGHT BIOGRAPHIES Nicole Fields Nicole Fields is an ISFSI inspector in the NRC Region III office. She performs safety inspections of spent fuel loading and storage operations at Region III ISFSI sites. Nicole has been with the agency as an ISFSI inspector since 2014, when she started in the Nuclear Safety Professional Development Program.

Prior to joining the agency, Nicole performed cutting-edge research in the development of radiation detectors at the University of Chicago. There she earned both an MS and a PhD in Physics. Nicole also holds a BA in astronomy-physics from the University of Virginia.

Neil Fales Neil started his nuclear career at Maine Yankee as a co-op for the spent fuel pool re-racking project and then hired on as an Auxiliary Operator. After the plant shut down, Neil Worked at Cooper Nuclear Station as a System Engineer for four years. He worked at General Electric for two years as a Thermo Design Engineer before returning to nuclear at Vermont Yankee for thirteen years as a System Engineer and then a Code Programs Engineer. Currently, Neil works for the 3 Yankees as the Aging Management Program Owner.

Carla Roque-Cruz Ms. Carla P. Roque-Cruz began her career with the NRC in 2002 as a Region Ill Nuclear Safety Professional Development Program (NSPDP) where she completed her reactor inspector qualification and work in the Division of Reactor Safety (DRS). In 2006, Ms.

Roque-Cruz moved to NRC headquarters and has held a number of progressively responsible positions including quality assurance and vendor inspector, technical assistant and reactor systems engineer in NRR.

In 2016, Ms. Roque-Cruz joined the Division of Spent Fuel Management (DSFM) in NMSS as a storage and transportation safety inspector. Ms. Roque-Cruz earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) degree in Mechanical Engineering (ME) from University of Puerto Rico - Mayaguez Campus and is a graduate of the NRC's Aspiring Leaders Certificate Program.

Marlone Davis Mr. Marlone Davis has over twenty years of nuclear industry experience. Mr. Davis joined the NRC in 2003 as a Reactor Engineer and worked as an Inspector in Region IV and Region I, respectively. He was a Resident Inspector at Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant in Maryland and served as the Senior Resident Inspector at Waterford Steam Electric Station in Louisiana.

Prior to joining the Agency, Marlone worked as an engineer for Sargent & Lundy at several nuclear power plants. He has a bachelors degree in nuclear engineering with a specialization in waste management and environmental restoration from Kansas State University. He is currently a Senior Safety Inspector in the Division of Spent Fuel Management.
