Issuance of Amendment for Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant Unit 1
Dear Mr. Walter,
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission is about to issue amendments to the Browns Ferry Unit 1license. In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 50.91(b), I am notifying you of the proposed issuance of this amendment.
By letter dated September 25, 2015 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML15268A566), as supplemented by letters dated December 28, 2015 (ADAMS Accession No. ML15363A426), and March 28, 2016 (ADAMS Accession No. ML16088A230), Tennessee Valley Authority submitted a request for changes to the Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant Unit 1 Technical Specifications (TSs). The amendment revises TS 2.0, "Safety Limits (SLs)," by changing the Safety Limit Minimum Critical Power Ratio for both single and dual recirculation loop operation.
Attached is the associated proposed no significant hazards consideration for the amendment request that was published in the Federal Register(FR) on January 5, 2016 (81 FR 276).
Please let us know if you have any comments on behalf of the State of Alabama for the above amendment.
