Beaver Valley Power Station(BVPS), EPA ID # PAR000040485, has exceeded it's 2,200 pound Small QuantityGenerator (SQG) regulated waste allotment for July and August, 2013, due to a non-routine construction project and subsequent clean out for a dry cask storage project. The aforementioned waste was railroad ties and telephone poles that had previously been sprayed with creosote (U051) as a wood preserving agent. The project durationwas from July 30 through August 15. BVPS has complied with all necessary LargeQuantity Generator (LQG) requirements for July and August, and has returned to itsSQG status in September, 2013. The amount of hazardous waste produced in eachmonth was approximately 9,900 pounds in July and 8,139 pounds in August, respectively, with approximately 99% of the gross weight by volume attributed to therailroad ties/telephone poles.Should you have any questions regarding the above matter, please direct them toMr. Andrew Cangey, at 724-682-4293.
