ME8488 AND ME8489)

Dear Mr. Meyer:

By letter dated April 26, 2012, as supplemented by letter dated April 30, 2012, NextEra Energy Point Beach, LLC (NextEra) applied for a license amendment to Renewed Facility Operating licenses DPR-24 and DPR-27 for the Point Beach Nuclear Plant (PBNP), Units 1 and 2, respectively. The proposed amendment was submitted under emergency circumstances pursuantto 10 CFR 50.90 and 10 CFR 50.91 (a)(5), and would have changed the facility Technical Specifications on a one-time only basis. Subsequently, by letter dated May 2,2012, NextEra withdrew the amendment request. The purpose of this letter is to advise you that the above application is being treated as withdrawn. A notice of consideration of issuance of the proposed amendment had not been published in the Federal Register. If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact me at (301) 415-3049.
