As a result of its quarterly review of plant performance, which was completed on April 22, 2024, the NRC updated its assessment of Watts Bar Nuclear Plant, Unit 2. The NRCs evaluation consisted of a review of performance indicators and inspection results. This letter informs you of the NRCs assessment of your facility and supplements, but does not supersede, the annual assessment letter on February 28, 2024.
 
The NRCs review of Watts Bar Nuclear Plant, Unit 2 identified that the Unplanned Scrams per 7000 Critical Hours and has crossed the Green to White threshold due to 4 unplanned scrams for the last four quarters. As a result of this performance indicator, the NRC determined the performance at Watts Bar Nuclear Plant, Unit 2 to be in the Regulatory Response Column of the second highest performance column of the NRCs Reactor Oversight Process (ROP) Action Matrix as of April 1, 2024. The NRC will be in contact to discuss the specific planning and scheduling activities regarding this performance indicator and anticipated 95001.
 
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRCs Rules of Practice, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRC's document system (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room).
