Dear Mr. Franssen: | |||
This letter refers to the investigation completed on September 14, 2020, by the U.S. Nuclear | |||
Regulatory Commission (NRC) Office of Investigations at the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station. The | |||
investigation was conducted, in part, to determine if a licensee employee (exam proctor) willfully | |||
provided inappropriate assistance to engineering students, contrary to plant procedures. A final | |||
exit briefing was conducted telephonically with you and other members of your staff on | |||
February 2, 2021. Details of this investigation and the apparent violation were provided to you | |||
in NRC Inspection Report 05000416/2020016 dated February 24, 2021, NRCs Agencywide | |||
Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML21055A001. | |||
In the NRC letter transmitting the inspection report, the NRC provided you the opportunity to | |||
address the apparent violation identified in the inspection report by either attending a | |||
predecisional enforcement conference or providing a written response before we made our final | |||
enforcement decision. You provided a written response in a letter dated March 25, 2021 | |||
(ADAMS Accession No. ML21085A565). We have no further questions at this time and will | |||
have future correspondence on this matter after the completion of our review of the information | |||
you provided. | |||
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRCs Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, a | |||
copy of this letter will be made available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public | |||
