GRAND GULF NUCLEAR STATION - ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF RESPONSE
TO NRC INSPECTION REPORT 05000416/2020016 AND INVESTIGATION
REPORT 4-2019-021
Dear Mr. Franssen:
This letter refers to the investigation completed on September 14, 2020, by the U.S. Nuclear
Regulatory Commission (NRC) Office of Investigations at the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station. The
investigation was conducted, in part, to determine if a licensee employee (exam proctor) willfully
provided inappropriate assistance to engineering students, contrary to plant procedures. A final
exit briefing was conducted telephonically with you and other members of your staff on
February 2, 2021. Details of this investigation and the apparent violation were provided to you
in NRC Inspection Report 05000416/2020016 dated February 24, 2021, NRCs Agencywide
Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML21055A001.
In the NRC letter transmitting the inspection report, the NRC provided you the opportunity to
address the apparent violation identified in the inspection report by either attending a
predecisional enforcement conference or providing a written response before we made our final
enforcement decision. You provided a written response in a letter dated March 25, 2021
(ADAMS Accession No. ML21085A565). We have no further questions at this time and will
have future correspondence on this matter after the completion of our review of the information
you provided.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRCs Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, a
copy of this letter will be made available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public
Document Room or from the NRCs ADAMS, accessible from the NRC website at
http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html.
