IMPOSITION OF CIVIL PENALTY - $64,000 By EN 85-54 dated August 12, 1985 the Commission was informed that a Notice of Violation and Proposed imposition of Civil Penalty in the amount of Sixty-four Thousand Dollars was issued on August 12, 1985 to GPU Nuclear Corporation.
This action was based on a violation involving acts of discrimination against a contractor employee for raising safety concerns associated with the THI-2 polar crane refurbishment in 1983.
i The licensee responded to the Notice in a {{letter dated|date=October 21, 1985|text=letter dated October 21, 1985}}. After careful consideration of the licensee's response, the staff concluded that the violation did occur as set forth in the Notice and that mitigation of the proposed civil penalty was not warranted. The Commission authorized the Director, Office of Inspection and Enforcement to issue an Order Imposing Civil Penalty in the amount of Sixty-four Thousand Dollars. Accordingly, an Order Imposing Civil Penalty was issued on March 4, 1986. Under the terms of the Order, the licensee may within 30 days of the date of the Order, pay the civil penalty or request a hearing.

IMPOSITION OF CIVIL PENALTY - $64,000 By EN 85-54 dated August 12, 1985 the Commission was informed that a Notice of Violation and Proposed imposition of Civil Penalty in the amount of Sixty-four Thousand Dollars was issued on August 12, 1985 to GPU Nuclear Corporation.
