In Illinois Power letter to Mr. Frank Jablonski, NRC Region III, (Ref: U-10024, 1606-L, dated January 17, 1983) Illinois Power agreed to notify Region III of those 10CFR Part 21 defects that affect Clinton Power Station and that were previously re-ported to the Commission by vendors or contractors.                          In accordance with that agreement, the following information is submitted:
On April 18, 1983, Mr. Guy Fauconneau, Vice President of MCC Powers, 5440 West Fargo Avenue, Skokie, Illinois 60777, l
informed the NRC Office of Inspection and Enforcement, Washington, l              DC, of a defect affecting Clinton Power Station (copy attached).
I MCC Powers has determined that a construction defect exists in shielded multiconductor cable installed in HVAC control panels l              supplied by MCC Powers. The report to the Commission states that I              the insulation of individual conductors has been damaged by cut-l              ting too deeply to remove the covering material.
MCC Powers personnel at Clinton Power Station have attached
              " Hold" tags to the thirteen (13) HVAC Control panels associated with this problem.

Dear Mr. Keppler:
