Enclosure to NRC-16-0038 Page 1 RAI EPNB-1 On page 1 of the enclosure to the letter dated April 5, 2016 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML16097A172), DTE Electric Company (DTE) provides a table called ASME Code Component (s) Affected. The table lists the pumps that are affected and describes whether they are vertical line shaft pumps, but does not give the description of the pump.

a. Indicate whether each pump is currently classified as being in Group A or Group B.
b. Will the pumps currently classified as Group B be reclassified as Group A?

RESPONSE

a. As indicated in the table below, all of the pumps listed on page 1 of the enclosure to the April 5, 2016 letter are currently classified as Group A and will remain classified as Group A.

ISTB-2000 Pump No. Description Classification E1102C002A RHR Pump A A E1102C002B RHR Pump B A E1102C002C RHR Pump C A E1102C002D RHR Pump D A E1151C001A RHR Service Water Pump A A E1151C001B RHR Service Water Pump B A E1151C001C RHR Service Water Pump C A E1151C001D RHR Service Water Pump D A E4101C001 High Pressure Coolant Injection Pump A P4400C001A Emergency Equip Cooling Water Div 1 Pump A P4400C001B Emergency Equip Cooling Water Div 2 Pump A P4500C002A Emergency Equip Service Water South Pump A P4500C002B Emergency Equip Service Water North Pump A R3001C005 EDG 11 DG Service Water Pump A R3001C006 EDG 12 DG Service Water Pump A R3001C007 EDG 13 DG Service Water Pump A R3001C008 EDG 14 DG Service Water Pump A T4100C040 South CCHVAC Chilled Water Pump A T4100C041 North CCHVAC Chilled Water Pump A

b. Not applicable; all of the pumps are already classified as Group A.

Enclosure to NRC-16-0038 Page 2 RAI EPNB-2 On page 3 of the enclosure to the letter (ADAMS Accession No ML16097A172), DTE states that ASME Code Case OMN-18 will allow Group A test in lieu of the comprehensive pump testing (CPT) if the Group A test is conducted at the CPT flow rate using pressure instruments that meet the CPT accuracy requirements. Please state what portions of the Code Case you are requesting to use.

RESPONSE

The Group A test will be performed with instrumentation meeting the CPT accuracy requirements of Table ISTB-3510-1. Applicable allowable ranges of test quantities specified in Tables ISTB-5121-1 and ISTB-5221-1 will be used. In addition, as discussed on page 3 of the enclosure to the April 5, 2016 letter, a tighter maximum differential pressure (DP) acceptance criterion of 106% will be imposed as a conservative exception to OMN-18.

Enclosure to NRC-16-0038 Page 3 RAI EPNB-3 By letter dated July 6, 2010, DTE submitted a letter (ADAMS Accession No. ML16082A309) in which the licensee reported that the start and end dates for Fermi 2 third 10-year In-service Testing interval, are February 17, 2010, and February 16, 2020, respectively. Please confirm that the dates are still valid for the current relief request submission.

RESPONSE

The dates discussed in the RAI are correct; the third 10-year Inservice Testing Program interval began on February 17, 2010 and will end on February 16, 2020.
