REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR ITEM 4.5.2 0F GENERIC LETTER
-83.28 FOR THE OYSTER CREEK NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION (TAC. N0. 54008)
The staff has reviewed the infomation provided by GPU Nuclear Corporation in letters dated November 1, 1984 and August 9, 1985 concerning Item 4.5.2'
" Reactor Trip Functional Testing" of Generic Letter 83-28. Based on our review
- of this information we have determined that you did'not address functional testing of the backup scram valves.
In this regard, it is our position that-
-functional testing of' the backup scram valves be conducted at the Oyster Creek-Nuclear Generating Station during each refueling outage. Please document your intent to conform with our position. You are requested to respond to this request by May 1,1989'in order:to meet the scheduled'. completion date.
The reporting and/or;recordkeeping requirements contained in this letter affect fewer than ten respondents; therefore OMB clearance is not required under P.L.97-511.
