R e: Application for license amendment to participate in the research study involving the implantation of Coratomic C-100 nuclear powered pacemakers, each containing 250 milligrams of Pu-238 (

The Buffalo Veterans Administration Hospital hereby requests an amendment to its Special Nuclear Materials License No. SNM-1305 (Docket No. 70-1331) to implant a maximum of 60 Coratomic C-100 pacemakers annually during the study.
The Buffalo Veterans Administration Hospital agrees to follow the protocol on file at the Division of Regulation and entitled: " Human Clinical Protocol for the Coratomic C -100 Radioisotope Powered Cardiac Pacer," dated August 1,1974. Copies of this protocol have been provided to the Buffalo Veterans Administration Hospital and are on file.
Staff physicians will be participating in this study -- these physicians being also included in the Buffalo Veterans Administration Hospital's Special Nuclear Materials License No. SNM-1305 presently in effect.
