Rw,0 Page 2 of 3 1.0 GENERAL 1.1 You and Your Job states your vacation dates are subject to the operating requirements of the Company, length of service, and approval of your principal supervisor. Where a vacation entitlement beyond two weeks is involved, the additional weeks may not necessarily be continuous _with the first two, or scheduled as a further grouping.
Vacations are not cumulative from calendar year to calendar year.
2.0 VACATIONS 2.1 Personnel submitting their vacation requests (refer to Exhibit OM-P-2.6:1) should:
1.
Schedule at least 50 percent of available vacation time by March 31 of the affected year.
A.
Vacation requests should be prioritized by the individual submitting the request. Highest priority requests will be dispositioned based on company seniority. Each individual will be offered their highest available vacation preference before all subsequent requests are scheduled.
O Examole v
Operators A, B, and C on day shift all have requests for Christmas as a first choice vacation preference. Operators A and B will be granted the reauest based on seniority. If Operators A, B, and C on day shift have the same priority requests for second choice vacation preference, then Operator C will be granted this vacation opening as a priority first choice preference.
B.
Prioritize vacation in work day blocks; only one work-day block is allowed per n brity.
Examnk
' An O?erator wants to schedule a block of three days and a block of three nights. The Operator would prioritize the day-shift block and the night-shift block.
A high seniority Operator wants to schedule one day within a block.
He may do so, but that might preclude another Operator with lower seniority from taking vacation for that same block of days.
