SUBJECT:
ALLEGATION CLOSURE (POTENTIAL PROBLEMS WITH PURCHASE SPECIFICATIONS FOR TRANSFORMERS AND SAFETY RELATED ELECTRICAL CABLE)
This allegation was referred to Culf States Utilities (GSU) by NRC Region'1V and GSU entered the identified concerns into.their quality concern system.
GSU conducted an in-depth technical review of all the concerns and they have concluded that the concerns are " invalid and cannot be substantiated".
I have attached a copy of the CSU quality concern closure memorandum dated February 19, 1986, which addresses each issue.
I have reviewed'the GSU quality concern file for this allegation and only one area of clarification was required. This was item "I" of the attached menorandum which referred to cable sizes 3/0 #8 and #40.
This should have been 3/C #8 and #10.
GSU rereviewed this item based on these cable sizes and no problem was identified. They also included a note in the quality concern file to document the. discrepancy and evaluation.
I have no problems with the technical evaluations performed by GSU.
I consider this allegation closed.
