Emergency Lighting
Dear Mr. Calvo:
Public Service Company of Colorado has conducted a verification test of the emergency lighting system at Fort St. Vrain.
The test results indicate that there are areas where inadequate emergency lighting has been demonstrated for either access / egress purposes or to perform required manual actions supporting shutdown /cooldown.
We are comitted to provide sufficient and adequate emergency lighting in accordance with our previous comitments to 10CFR50, Appendix R,
Section III.J.
Design modifications to the emergency lighting system are being initiated to bring us into compliance. All required modification shall be installed and functional by the startup at the end of the fourth refueling.
This is our existing completion date for our Appendix R modifications. All operational personnel will continue to carry hand-held lights as a compensatory measure until completion of the emergency lighting modifications.
By November 21, 1988, we will provide additional details as to the specific emergency lighting modifications being undertaken at Fort St. Vrain, i
