NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION l
g j
WASHINGTON, D. C. 20666 j
jf November 5, 1984 CHAIRMAN MEMORANDUM FOR:
Commissioner Roberts Commissioner Asselstine Commissioner Bernthal Commissioner Zech
/[)
l FROM:
Nunzio J. Palladino l
SUBJECT:
CONVERSATION WITH CONGRESSMAN FAZIO i
ON SAN ONOFRE UNIT 1 On October 29, 1984 I received a telephone call from Congressman Fazio of California, regarding legal and technical issues on San Onofre Unit 1.
The purpose of his call was to express his concern over whether NRC was giving sufficient t
attention to Southern California Edison.
I advised him that there were two recent submittals by Southern California Edison.
I stated that we were giving careful attention to the l
submittals; the Office of the General Counsel is reviewing the legal points raised by Southern California Edison, and should
- i have a response shortly.
(Subsequently, this was submitted on November 5.)
i I could not respond fully on the review status of the technical submittal and told Congressman Fazio that we would get back to his staff assistant the next day.
(Subsequently, Norm Haller called Pat Fulton to advise of the status of the staff's technical review; Norm used a two page summary of the status that was also provided to your offices on October 30.)
