COST. ANALYSIS GROUP'S SUPPLEMENTAL COST ANALYSIS FOR REGULATORY GUIDE 1.99, REVISION 2 In response to your memorandum of October 23, 1984 requesting the Cost Analysis Group's (CAG) estimation of the replacement energy costs based upon the Regulatory Guide 1.99, Revision 2, the CAG has prepared the attached report.

The report provides estimates of plant-specific replacement energy costs contingent upon the additional hours the plants would be "down" due to the implementation of Regulatory Guide 1.99, Revision 2.

The analysis is based on the assumptions contained in my memo to you of October 30, 1984 The resulting CAG cost estimate is approximately 60 percent lower than that contained in the original cost analysis.

The detailed calculations leading to an estimate were viewed as very cumberseme and therefore are not included in the report. However, they are available to you should you need them.
