REVIEW OF COST ANALYSIS CONTAINED IN REGULATORY ANALYSIS c-FOR USI A-40 -- SEISMIC DESIGN CRITERIA In response to your memorandum of September 5,1984, the Cost Analysis Group (CAG) has prepared the attached review of the cost analysis contained in the Regulatory Analysis for USI A-40.

In general, the CAG views the cost analysis as very limited in both scope and detail, and as such, is not readily amenable to very specific constructive

comment on our part. We have however identified a number of coments which if p

adopted would, in our view, strengthen the basis for a number of the i

conclusions concerning costs that appear in the subject regulatory analysis.
