Dear Mr. Hudson:
In response to your recent letter requesting NRC Office of Investigations assistance regarding allegations of wrongdoing by Stokley Enterprises and Spectronics, Inc., I am authorizing the assignment of Investigator Gary Claxton from our Rc;iion II Field Office to assist you in that investigation.
I would request that you and your staff make every effort to utilize our investigator only when absolutely necessary. My Regional Field Office has an extremely small staff (five investigators and one director) and, as I am sure you can appreciate, any time spent assisting your office in the investigation of Stokley/Spectronics will, of necessity, impact on that office's ability to support other NRC-related investigations. Nonetheless, I feel that the issues to be addressed by your investigation warrant our support.
Further coordination of this matter should be directed to my Field Office Director, James Y. Vorse, who can be reached at FTS 841-6506 or 404/331-6506.
