We have completed our review of your April 4,1985 request for relief from the American Society of Mechanical EngineersSection XI Code with respect to leak testing the Hatch Unit 1 and 2 Main Steam Isolation Valves. As indicated in the enclosed Safety Evaluation, we grant the requested relief.
We have determined pursuant to 10 CFR Part 50.55a(g)(6)(i), that the granting of this relief is authorized by law and will not endanger life or property or the common defense and security and is othentise in the public interest.
In making this determination, we have given due consideration to the burden that could result if these requirements were imposed on your facility.
