EVALUATION OF HATCH UNIT 2 STARTUP AND OPERATION WITH PIPE WHIP RESTRAINTS MISSING We have completed our evaluation regarding startup and operation of Hatch Unit 2 with 8 pipe whip restraints missing.
Based on our review of Georgia Power Company's June 28, 1983 letter to Region II and discussions i-with the licensee, we have determined that it is acceptable to startup and operate Hatch Unit 2 without these pipe whip restraints on the condition that the licensee take the compensatory measures discussed in the attached Safety Evaluation.
This evaluation was performed by NRR under TIA No. 83-67 in response to Region II's oral request of June 29,.1983. This letter completes our activity under this TIA.
