DOCKET NO. 50-363 The enclosed report of the initial quality assurance inspection of the subject facility is transmitted for information and possible action.

This inspection was performed earlier in the licensing review stage than other similar inspections in the recent past.

Compliance found that the applicant has developed a quality assurance program which is consistent with commitments in the PSAR. Three areas, however, need further attention:

Policy and procedures for design control (Criterion III).

2.

Policy and procedures related to applicant review of procure-ment docur.ents (Criteria II and IV).

3 Policy and procedures relative to the applicant's internal audit and schedules for audit of contractor ectivities (Criterion XVIII).-

These findings were discussed with the applicant in a meeting or January 1+, 1971. The results of that meeting vill be discussed.i a report now in preparation.
