MOTION FOR CONTINUANCE The Petitioner Hartsville Group has received the Licensidg Board's Order of January 21, 1983, setting a Special Prehearing Conference and setting February 24, 1983, as a date for filing iu Supplement. That Order was not received here in the hinter-I lands of the South Carolina Pee Dee country until Friday, Jan-uary 28, 1983.

The Hartsville Group would respectfully request that the Licensing Board reconsider that Order and establish new dates for the Prehearing Conference.

l By setting a February 24, 1983, date for f'iling the Supple-ment, the Board seriously undercuts our ability to fully and fairly prepare our Supplement. Although we might be able to have our contentions ready at that date, we are working with consultants on certain of those contentions in order to solidify l

the bases for the contentions.

If the Board insists upon depriving us of the full time for filing the Supplement called for at 10 CFR 2.714(b), then that deprival in all justice must be taken into account by the Board in any rulings it might make on those contentions and their admissability.

will demur from following the Board's suggestion that the Group and CFDC file joint contentions, and would oppose any suggestion that the two groups' interventions be consolidated.

. THEREFORE, we ask that the Board reconsider its Order and either reschedule the Special Prehearing Conference until a

. later date or afford us the full opportunity provided by the regulations for preparing our Supplement.
