Model Nos. 20-VS and 40-VS Packagings Docket No. 71-9160 Enc 1 to 1tr dtd: MAY 2 71982 DRAWINGS Provide complete engineering drawings of the Model Nos. 20-VS and 40-VS shipping packages. The drawings should show the general arrangement and design features of the package, the materials of construction, dimensions, method of construction, and welds. Each sheet of the drawings should show a drawing number and revision number.

t STRUCTURAL 1.

Show by analysis or test that the lifting devices comply with the requirements of 10 CFR 571.31(c).

2.

The requirements of 10 CFR 571.31(d)(2) for tie-down devices should be addressed.

3.

Show by analysis or test that the package, if regarded as a simple beam supported at its end along any major axis, can support a uniformly distributed load equal to five times its fully loaded weight.

4.

Show that the package meets the standards specified in 10 CFR 571.35 when subjected to the nomal conditions of transport specified in Appendix A to 10 CFR Part 71.

5.

Clarify the orientation' of the 30-foot drop test. Justify that the orientation chosen for the 30-foot drop test represents the most damaging orientation, i.e., what ef91 wild a 30-foot drop on to the lock box (through the center a 0; wity) have on the package.
