Please note that pursuant to Paragraphs 71.12(b) and 150.20 of 10 CFR Parts 71 and 150, licensees must, among other things as a condition of the general license provisions, assure themselves that packages have l
been designed and fabricated under an NRC approved QA program.
l If it is your intent to provide such assurance, it will be necessary to expand your NRC approved QA program by addressing the criteria identified in Appendix E to 10 CFR Part 71 applicable to design and fabrication activities.
To assist you in preparing the QA program description, enclosed is the guide, " Acceptance Criteria for Nomal/Special Form Radioactive Material" the staff has found acceptable for meeting applicable requirements.
