Conner Nuclear Station This letter transnits the Safety Evaluation for the Environnental Qualification of Safety Polated Electrical Equipnent at your facility. This evaluation is based on your response to our previous Safety Evaluation Report, dated June 3, 1981, and subsequent subnittals dated Septenber 4,1981, and January 22, 1982.

This Safety Evaluation presents the results of the Environnental Qualification Rovf ow for safety-related electrical equipnent, exposed to a harsh environnent, in ucordance with '!RC requirenents. tie request that you provide your plans for qualification or reolacenent of any of the equipoent in NRC categories I.b, II.a and II.b (oresentert in the Technical Evaluation Roport) and the schedule for acconolishinq your prc,noseri corrective actions to us within ninety (90) days of tha recoint of this lettor.

As indicatod in the conclusion section of the Safety Evaluation, we request that you reaf firn the justification for continued operation and within thirty (30) days of receipt of this letter, subnit infornation for any itens in hRC j

catenories 1.h, II.a and II.h (presented in the enclosed Technical Evaluation Poport) for which justification for continued operation was not previously submitted to the NRC.

At your option, the staff will be available to discuss the findings in the Safety Evaluation as auonented by the Technical Evaluation Report. Questions renardinri this letter should be directed through the NRC Project Canaqer for your plant.
