Eisenhut dated April 24 1984.
Resolutions of SER for EQ of Safety Related Electrical Equipment at CNS, Unit I Reference 1 requested the Nebraska Public Power District to confirm the JCO's submitted for Cooper Station prior to Reference 2, satisfy the criteria of 10 CFR 50.49(i).
Cooper Station is currently shutdown for refueling and replacement of recirculation piping.
During the course of this outage, the District is committed to completing the upgrade of its EQ equipment.
Since the plant is in a major outage, the District feels that the expenditure of funds and engineering resources to confirm the previously submitted and accepted JCO's satisfy the new criteria is unwarranted.
If for any reason the District should determine that an extension beyond startup is required for the EQ program, any unqualified equipment that does not have a JCO submitted per the requirements of 10CFR 50.49(i),
j shall have a new one submitted at that time.
