i RESOLUTION OF NORTH SHORE COMMITTEE CONTENTION EP ll(D) --
REDUNDANT POWER SUPPLIES d
THIS AGREEMENT by and among Long Island Lighting Company ("LILCO"), the Nuclear Regulatory Commission Staff l
(" Staff"), Suffolk County ("the County" or "SC"), the Shoreham Opponents Coalition (" SOC"), and the North Shore Committee
("NSC") (hereinafter collectively the " Parties") resolves North Shore Committee Contention EP 11(D) in accordance with the terms stated below, subject to the approval of the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board (" Licensing Board").
il 1
North Shore Committee Contention EP 11(D) concerns the availability of redundant power supplies for the backup commun-j ications systems from the Shoreham Nuclear Power Station.
NSC lI r

r has contended that the LILCO plan does not adequately describe the power supplies.
By this Resolution agreement, LILCO assures NSC that LILCO has provided diesel generator power as a backup power source to the radios used by LILCO for backup communications from the site in the event that the telephone system should become impaired.
Further, to respond to NSC's concerns regarding backup power, LILCO will provide battery backup power to offsite radios used by LILCO at the Emergency Operations Facility.
As a result of LILCO's agreement to take these actions, NSC finds that the concerns raised in Contention EP 11(D) are resolved.
Accordingly, the parties urge the Licensing Board to accept this resolution to terminate litigation of NSC Contention EP 11(D).
