RESOLUTION OF SUFFOLK COUNTY CONTENTION 10(A) -- FIELD MONITORING TEAMS THIS AGREEMENT by and among Long Island Lighting Company ("LILCO"), the Nuclear Regulatory Commission Staff
(" Staff"), Suffolk County ("the County" or "SC"),
the Shoreham Opponents Coalition (" SOC"), and the North Shore Committee
("NSC") (hereinafter collectively the " Parties") resolves Suffolk County Contention EP 10(A) in accordance with the terms stated below, subject to the approval of the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board (" Licensing Board").
Suffolk County Contention 10(A) concerns the number of field monitoring teams to be used in the event of a radiolog-ical emergency at the Shoreham Nuclear Power Station.
Suffolk County has contended that LILCO's commitment to three teams is inadequate for timely monitoring of potential radiological releases.

By this Resolution agreement, LILCO responds to the County's concerns and commits that a four_th replacement field monitoring team will be available in the event of a radiolog-ical emergency to replace or relieve one of the three teams in the field should it become necessary to do so.
In this manner, LILCO has increased its ability to assure continued radiolog-ical monitoring by downwind survey teams during any radiolog-ical emergency.
LILCO further agrees to amend its plan and implementing procedures prior to commencement of fuel loading to reflect the existence of the replacement field monitoring team and the role it will be capable of performing in an emergency.
LILCO will provide the amended portions of the plan and implementing pro-cedures to the County for its review simultaneously with sub-mission of those amendments to the NRC.
Accordingly, the County finds that SC Contention EP IO(A) is resolved As a result, the parties jointly urge the Licensing Board to accept this Resolution to terminate litiga-tion of SC Contention EP 10(A),
