Narrative

Report for LER 50-321/1981-029 On 4-10-81,. with Unit 1 shutdown for a refueling / torus modif-ication outage the AE conducted a surveillance walkdown of

pipe supports per IEB 79-14.

On 4-13-81, the site was notif-ied by the AE that supports G31-RWCUH-57, P41 - SWil-9 6, P41-SWH-143, and P41-SWH-169 failed the support functionality criteria for IEB 79-14.

This is a repetitive occurrence see LER 50-321/1980-122.

There were no effects on public health or safety.

No system operability was affected.

Supports G31-RWCUH-57, P41-SWH-96, and P41-SWH-169 had stres-ses in structural members resulting from weight plus DBE scis-mic loads exceeding the materials yield stresses.

Supports 9

P41-SWH-143 and P41-SWH-169 had deflections of over 1/4" resulting from weight plus DBE seismic loads.

Supports will be modified or replaced as necessary prior to startup such that the requirements of Tech Specs 6.9.1.8.I are satisfied.
