Relative variance for each measurement used in calculating activity values l were combined using the additive property of variance. The square root of l the combined variance was extracted to obtain an estimate of the standard deviation of the multistep process. The standard deviation was used to evaluate the error in the calculated activities at the 95% confidence level.
