Report on 8-23-79, with the Unit 1

neactor shutdown for the refueling / maintenance

outago, it was discovered uhile performing hanger nurveillance in responne to IE Bulleitn 79-14 that a section of pioing in the plant instrument air synten (PS2) was not seisnically supoorted per the original denign.

Upon discovery of the installation error, the problem was correct.ed by installing a pipe hanger as called for by original desi gn.

This event had no inpact on Unit 2 nince the hanger surveillance has been previousiv conplef,cd, and any prob 1r.nn of a ninila' ria t u r e were corrected at that Line.

Further analynic by Bechtel has revealed that since the controlling Joad for the support uan for reinnic concerns onl/

and since no neismic even t. has occurred, the piping wan not

. degraded due the the 'upport'n absence.
