THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO Department of Nuclear Engineering March 28, 2018 U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission ATTN: Document Control Desk Washington D.C.

20555 Review of the technical specifications and the changes requested in the letter dated September 28, 2015 for the AGN-201M reactor located at the University of New Mexico, Docket 50-252 indicated four corrections or clarifications were required:

1.

It was originally stated that this definition be added - Pg. 2, 1.1.12 - Limiting Safety System Settings (LSSS) - settings for automatic protective devices related to those variables having significant safety functions.

However, there is a typographical error in the definition - Settings should not be plural but should be singular as is done in the rest of the document. Thus, the added definition should be: Pg. 2, 1.1.12 - Limiting Safety System Setting (LSSS) -

settings for automatic protective devices related to those variables having significant safety functions.

2.

It was originally stated - Pg. 3, Definition 1.1.27 now becomes definition 1.1.29 1

and is moved to page 3a.

However, this is a typographical error. Definition 1.1.27 should now become definition 1.1.30.

3.

It was originally stated - Pg. 25, 6.1.12 - For consistency, changed reactor control room to reactor room on 6.1.12.a.l, and on 6.1.12.c. Also, changed 6.1.12.a.3 to read, "One radiation safety staff member who can... "

The justification for the second change is a reorganization in the Radiation Safety Dept.

such that the on call staff member can be the Radiation Safety Officer, the Health Physicist, or Radiation Specialist. To indicate that the important feature was that a radiation safety staff member (regardless of Title) be available.

4.

An editorial change was made to Section 6.10.2.h to correct an error in label of limiting safety system setting and to add acronyms (SL) and (LSSS) where appropriate.

Section 6.10.2.h should read:

h. Records of the review of:

Violations of any safety limit (SL)

Violations of any limiting safety system setting (LSSS)

Violations of any limiting condition of operation (LCO)

If you have any questions or comments, please let us know.

I declare under penalty of perjury that the foregoing is true and correct.

Executed on March 28, 2018.
