SUBJECT:

University of California - Irvine, Docket Number 50-326, License Number R-116, Emergency Plan Revision 4.2 Incorporated Under 10 CFR §50.54(q)

Dear Ms. Tran:

Purpose By way of this letter, the University of California, Irvine is submitting the latest revision to the UC Irvine Nuclear Reactor Facility Emergency Plan, 4.2, in order to reflect changes in the university's organizational structure and titles, and to correct typos and other such errors.

Background

In accordance with the UC Irvine Nuclear Reactor Facility Emergency Plan, Section 10.3, 10 CFR

§50.54, and 10 CFR §50 Appendix E, the revised plan is being submitted.

Discussion The Emergency Plan for the UC Irvine facility has been revised to reflect several changes made external to the facility in the university's organizational structure. Chief among those changes are amended titles and the elimination of a position formerly in the Environmental Health and Safety group, the Deputy Director.

It is our assessment that these changes have no significant impact on the response actions to radiological events at this facility, which allows these changes to be made under 10 CFR §50.54(q) and other NRC guidance. These changes have been reviewed and approved by the UC Ii-vine Reactor Operations Committee.
