I Thii report is submitted in accordance with the requir~ments of IO CFR 55.45(b)(5), "Certification of Simulator Facilities," as it applies to the Palisades simulator which was first certified on June II, I990.
It describes the simulator performance testing completed and the new performance tests planned over the next four years. It provides a list and brief description of each uncorrected deficiency associated with the simulator performance testing during the past four years and the date before which they.will be corrected..
It also provides the schedule for the conduct of approximately 25% of the simulator performance tests per year for the second four-year period.
In addition, it describes the relocation of the simulator and the upgrade to the hardware and software implemented at Palisades.

Additional Testing 2
In April of 1991, benchmark testing was performed prior to dismantling the simulator for relocation to the plant* site. This set of test results was later used to verify the simulator operated the same as before the transport.
The simulator was dismantled and shipped to the plant site in May 1991 and the simulator re-assembled and the hardware checked for functionality.
At that time the simulator was again tested using the same tests that were used as bench mark tests. The test results were compared to the bench mark tests to ensure that the simulator functioned properly.
In September of 1991, the Simulator ENCORE 3277 computer was replaced with a new ENCORE 2050 computer~ At that time the simulator was once again rigorously tested using this same set of tests to verify acceptability. The post computer replacement testing satisfied the 1991 annual -25% performance testing criteria.
The following is a listing and title of benchmark tests and dates performed, after move tests and dates performed, fo 11 owed by post computer replacement.

In January 1994, test Ml41 and malfunction RP02 were replaced with "STARTUP & LOGARITHMIC CHANNEL 1/3 C HIGH VOLTAGE POWER SUPPLY FAILURE AT Cl50A PANEL".
6 N008, the simulator performance test that i~volves technical specification surveillance tests normally conducted by the control room operators, has been expanded.
In the initial certification submittal, only two technical specffication surveillance tests were a part of this test.
An additional 22 tests were added to N008 in response to NRC questions, subsequent to the initial submittal.
In the additional 22 ~ests, only those steps which are performed tn the control room or that result in a change in control room indications are performed.
These steps are performed using remote functions, malfunctions or by an instructor's response.. These additional tests were*
performed as described in section 1.0 of this report. The following plant technical specification surveillance tests were added to N008 during 1991.

The l/S consists of 3 Gateway 486 - 66 Mhz personal computers.
Two of the PCs are the man-machine interface while the third is a communications server, communicating with the simulator ENCORE computers.
The I/S software is continuously upgraded as the simulator is refined to remain current in regard to malfunctions, remotes, enhancements and the resolution of deficiencies.
