QUARTERLY DATA REPORT SHNPP SEISMIC MONITORING PROGRAM JANUARY 1 1982 MARCH 31 1982 Carolina Power & Light Company (CPAL) has completed another quarter of operation of its seismic monitoring program at the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant site near New Hill, North Carolina. During this period, a total of 65 oultural events were recorded with an S-P of less than 5 seconds. No local earthquakes were detected.

Of these 65 events, 57 were confirmed as being explosions by responsible companies or agencies. The remaining 8 events displayed the signature and arrival pattern typical of previously identified cultural events and none occurred at night or on a weekend or holiday.
