REVIEW OF THE UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA TRAINING REACTOR EMERGENCY PLAN FOR LICENSE RENEWAL (CAC No. ME1586)

By letter dated July 8, 2002 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML022130145), the University of Florida (the licensee) requested a renewal of its Operating License for their training reactor. As part of the license renewal process, the Reactor Licensing Branch (RLB) was requested to review the version of the University of Florida Training Reactor (UFTR) Emergency Plan on file (ADAMS Accession No.

ML16200A378) dated August 2013. The licensee submitted this version as a complete reissuance of the UFTR Emergency Plan as part of the licensees efforts to reconstitute the UFTR licensing basis. This version was extracted from a letter dated August 30, 2013 (ADAMS Accession No. ML13252A141).

The RLB has completed its review of the UFTR Emergency Plan and has determined that the UFTR Emergency Plan is compliant with the following regulations and guidance:

  • NRC Information Notice 97-34, Deficiencies in Licensee Submittals Regarding Terminology for Radiological Emergency Action Levels in Accordance with the New Part 20, and
