No: IV-15-022 August 12, 2015 CONTACT: Victor Dricks (817) 200-1128 Lara Uselding (817) 100-1519 NRC Names New Resident Inspector at Arkansas Nuclear One The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has selected Andy Barrett as the new Resident Inspector at Arkansas Nuclear One in Russellville, Ark.

Andy Barretts technical experience and regulatory perspective will assist the NRC in carrying out its mission to protect people and the environment by ensuring the safe operation of Arkansas Nuclear One, said NRC Region IV Administrator Marc Dapas.

Barrett joined the NRC in 2003. He served as a Resident Inspector at the Grand Gulf and River Bend nuclear power plants. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelors degree in nuclear engineering in 1997.

Each U.S. commercial nuclear power plant has at least two Resident Inspectors. Barrett joins Senior Resident Inspector Brian Tindell and Resident Inspector Margaret Tobin at the site. They serve as the agencys eyes and ears at the facility, conducting inspections, monitoring significant work projects, and interacting with plant workers and the public.
