Nine Mile point Unit 2, MF3056, LAR re: MELLLA+, Supplement to the Simulator Audit plan By email dated November 10, 2014, I transmitted the Simulator Audit Plan to you (ADAMS Accession No. ML14314A214).

The email below provides additional information:

(1) on the TIP Report for a recent cycle mentioned in the Section titled Documents Requested for Staff Examination. The topic is concerning your RAI response dated September 15, 2014, to RAI

  1. SRXB(2)-1.0.

(2) In the Section titled Documents Requested for Staff Examination, add the document, Administrative Procedure OP-AA-102-106, Operator Response Time Program mentioned in their response to RAI # AHPB-2, dated October 10, 2014.

(3) Also, in the Section titled Audit Agenda, the NRC Audit team recommends that the following simulator scenarios be added to the audit plan:

(a) Two-Recirculation Pump Trip (b) Loss of Feedwater Heating (c) Turbine trip with bypass and hydraulic ATWS (d) MSIV Isolation ATWS with hydraulic ATWS Please contact me, if you have any questions.

Review of TIP reports:

RAI-1 Since NMP2 power density is 51.86 MWt/Mlbm/hr (>50), provide a power distribution assessment to establish that neutronic methods axial and nodal power distribution uncertainties have not increased(Ref; letter NMP-2L2556)

Response

The requested action to justify that the neutronic methods axial and nodal power distribution uncertainties have not increased cannot be adequately performed until measured data is available.

We need discussion on the above response, Review of TIP Report is required to close this open issue:
