On March 12, 2012, the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Reference 1 to all power reactor licensees and holders of construction permits in active or deferred status. of Reference 1 contains specific Requested Actions, Requested Information, and Required Responses associated with Recommendation 2.3 for Seismic.
U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission AEP-NRC-2014-08 Page 2 Reference 2 provided the 180-day response to Reference 1 for Recommendation 2.3 for Seismic for Indiana Michigan Power Company (I&M), the licensee for Donald C. Cook Nuclear Plant (CNP)
Units 1 and 2. In Reference 2, I&M made three commitments:
- 1. CNP Unit 1 - Complete seismic walkdowns and area walkbys for components listed in Table E-1 of the Seismic Walkdown Report.
- 2. CNP Unit 2 - Complete seismic walkdowns and area walkbys for remaining components listed in Table E-2 of the Seismic Walkdown Report.
- 3. Update the Seismic Walkdown Report and provide it to the NRC.
Reference 3 provided an updated Seismic Walkdown Report that documented completion of Commitment 1 for CNP Unit 1. Reference 3 was approved by the NRC in Reference 4. This letter and Enclosure 2 complete commitments 2 and 3.
Changes to the Seismic Walkdown Report subsequent to the transmittal of Reference 3 are annotated with change bars.
