Information Request, Auxiliary Feedwater Piping Systems San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Unit 1 Per your letter dated July 27,

have enclosed (as listed in Attachment I) the majority of additional information required for your analysis.
Unfortunately, some of the information you requested is not available and, therefore, will not be provided.
The information not provided is also listed in Attachment I.
Isometrics for the line numbers specified in items la and lb of your letter are not available.
- However, I have enclosed the related plan and section drawings from which isometrics can be developed.
In regards to Item 4 of your letter, the most efficient way to obtain the information you have requested, is for you to contact the suppliers directly.
The information you have previously received along with the enclosed valve numbers should aid you in obtaining the desired descriptions.
- Finally, in reference to your question in Item 6, the emergency arresting stops were added to the system in order to prevent damage that can be caused by seismic and dynamic loads.
The stops provide clearance and flexibility to the system; consequently, the stops protect the system from breakage due to phenomena such as water hammer.
If you have any questions on any of this information, please let me know.
