ENCLOSURE I Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant Units 1, 2, and 3 Regulatory Issue Summary 2011-13 STATUS As discussed in the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) letter to NRC, "Generic Letter 96-05 Class "D" Joint Owners' Group Motor Operated Valves," dated September 25, 2012, the TVA had identified a small number of Joint Owners Group-(JOG) Class "D" Motor-Operated Valves (MOVs) installed at Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant (BFN), Units 1, 2, and 3, that did not have the required modifications completed by September 25, 2012, to allow their classification as Class "A" or Class "B" JOG valves. The status of the disposition of these valves is provided below.

The Unit 1 Drywell Spray Isolation Valves (1-FCV-74-60, -61, -74, and -75) were previously classified as Class "C" MOVs. Physical work was performed in the recently completed Unit 1 Fall 2012 refueling outage to support the reclassification of these valves to either Class "A" or Class "B".

The Unit 2 Drywell Spray Isolation Valves (2-FCV-74-60, -61, -74, and -75) were previously classified as Class "D" MOVs. Physical work will be performed in the upcoming Unit 2 Spring 2013 refueling outage to support the reclassification of these valves to either Class "A" or Class "B".

The Units 1, 2, and 3 Residual Heat Removal Heat Exchanger Cooling Water Isolation Valves (1/2/3-FCV-23-34, -40, -46, and -52) are classified as Class "D" MOVs. Reviews are in progress to complete the basis for the Periodic Verification approach for these valves.

This basis will be complete by July 10, 2013.
