Watts Bar 2 SAMDA clarifications As a follow up to our phone call, the staff had the following clarifications.
- 1. The 1/31/11 response to RAI 2.d, 2nd paragraph, 2nd sentence (p. E1-65) "...since the proportion of the Late containment failure sequences (i.e., Release Category III) are not excluded from the intact containment frequency;...". What is meant by "the proportion" is not clear.
- 2. With regard to Item 12 of the requested clarifications concerning SAMDA 70, and earlier response to RAI 5.b, considers any cost savings associated with spreading the cost of the engineering and design of SAMDA 70 between both units since it was stated earlier that TVA would align the licensing and design bases of the two units to the fullest practical extent.
