Dear Mr. Wells,
By letter dated November 8, 2023, Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) submitted Amendment 5 to the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant Dual-Unit Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR), as required by Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 50.71.
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff has performed a review of the UFSAR to identify and remove sensitive, unclassified non-safeguards information (SUNSI) in accordance with agency policy for protecting SUNSI. The NRC staff reviewed information redacted by TVA and has determined that the redactions meet the criteria for SUNSI and will be withheld.
During the SUNSI review, I noticed that Figure 2.4-14, Sheets 1 through 5, had a header at the top of the page that said Security-Related Information - Withheld Under 10 CFR 2.390. I spoke with Ms. Beverly Duckett, and she confirmed that the header was erroneous and should be removed. Accordingly, I have removed the header from the five figures. This file had been added to ADAMS and will be made publicly available. The publicly available version of the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant Dual-Unit UFSAR, Amendment 5 can be located at ADAMS Accession No. ML23346A225. The non-public version of the UFSAR will be withheld from public view.
