December 7, 2007 Mr. Britt T. McKinney Sr. Vice President and Chief Nuclear Officer PPL Susquehanna, LLC 769 Salem Blvd., NUCSB3 Berwick, PA 18603-0467

SUBJECT:

SUSQUEHANNA STEAM ELECTRIC STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 (SSES 1 AND 2) - CORRECTION TO FINAL ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT AND FINDING OF NO SIGNIFICANT IMPACT RELATED TO PROPOSED EXTENDED POWER UPRATE (TAC NOS. MD3309 AND MD3310)

Dear Mr. McKinney:

On November 28, 2007, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued a copy of the Final Environmental Assessment (EA) and Finding of No Significant Impact related to your extended power uprate application dated October 11, 2006, for SSES 1 and 2.

The title and summary section of the previous EA incorrectly refers the document as a draft EA instead of a final EA. In addition, an action statement for noticing the document for public comment was inadvertently added on the first page of the EA. These are administrative errors which have been corrected in the enclosed assessment.

The updated Final EA is being forwarded to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.

The NRC regrets any inconvenience that this error may have caused. If there are any questions regarding this matter, please contact me at 301-415-1030.

Sincerely,

/RA/

Richard V. Guzman, Senior Project Manager Plant Licensing Branch I-1 Division of Operating Reactor Licensing Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Docket Nos. 50-387 and 50-388
