NRC OFFICE OF INVESTIGATIONS REPORT NO. 3-2002-021

Dear Mr. Nazar:

This letter refers to an investigation conducted by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Office of Investigations (OI) to determine if a Chemistry Technician was discriminated against, in the form of employment termination. Based on the evidence developed during the investigation, we did not substantiate the issue. The synopsis from the OI report of investigation is enclosed.

SYNOPSIS This investigation was initiated on August 19, 2002, by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Office of Investigations, Region III, to determine if a former Chemistry Technician at the D.C. Cook Nuclear Power Plant (Cook) was discriminated against in violation of 10 CFR 50.7 and 50.5 for raising procedural concerns.

Based upon the evidence developed, this investigation did not substantiate the allegation that a former Chemistry Technician at Cook was discriminated against in violation of 10 CFR 50.7 and 50.5 for raising procedural concerns.
