RAI Question In the licensee's submission dated March 30, 2009, the licensee stated that the cables in Fire Area 10 are IEEE-383 qualified, or equivalent. Please state whether the cables in. question are thermoplastic or thermoset.

RAI Response The Automatic Depressurization System (ADS) control cables are located in a stack of six cable trays as discussed in earlier submittals. Based on a review of the James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant (JAF) cable and raceway database, approximately 600 cables are present in these trays. All of the cable mark numbers were reviewed against the information in the cable and raceway database as well-as the original purchase specifications. This review concluded that all of the cables located in the stack of cable trays discussed in the March 30, 2009 submittal, that contain the ADS control cables, are thermoset.
