Dear Mr. Stratman:

SUBJECT: NOTICE OF VIOLATION (NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-440/93002(DRS))

This will acknowledge receipt of your letter dated June 10, 1993, in response to our letter dated May 10, 1993, transmitting a Notice of Violation associated with Inspection Report No. 50-440/93002. This report summarized the results of the mid-cycle leak rate testing of the main steam lines and of the second periodic _ containment leak rate test at your Perry Nuclear Power Pl ant.

Based on a telephone conversation between Mr. F. Maura of this office-and Mr. R. Gaston of your staff on June 23, 1993, it is our understanding that-the guidance developed for MSIV valve re-assembly will be incorporated into GMI-0096 by August 31, 1993. We have reviewed your corrective actions and have no further questions at this time. These corrective actions will be examined during future inspections.
