crane. Reference CEICo Final Report on Unit 2 Polar Crane Girder Weld Deficiencies (RDC 39 (81)) dated February 26, 1982, as supplemented by letter dated April 23, 1982. The repair process for these box girders has been completed. The inspector reviewed site documentation and the licensee's reports and has no further questions at this tim Functional of Program Areas Inspected Containment Radiographic Review The review of the shell plate radiographs for Unit 1 is now complete The first four (4) courses had approximately a 35% weld rejection rate, while the remaining courses had only a 3% reject rate. The total film reviewed on Unit 2 shell plate consisted of 7,910 film, which encompasses 418 welds. -There are 2,910 film involved with the dome, which encompasses 266 welds. The dome radiographs are presently being reviewed; as are the penetration weld It is expected that the review of Unit 2 containment radiographs will begin the week of June 21, 198 ~

Possible Weld Defects in Unit 1 Suppression Pool Floor Reference Inspection Reports No. 50-440/81-17; 50-441/81-17 and CEICo Final Report on Unit 1 Suppression Pool Clad Floor Plate Installation Activities (RDC-40(81)) dated March 31, 1982. The weld repair of two (2) areas has been completed. Tha epair process is progressing slower than anticipate . Polar Crane Box Girder Repair - Unit 1 The informational U.T. examination of Unit 1 polar crane girders (Reference Inspection Reports No. 50-441/81-02; 50-441/82-02.) has been performed on a random basis to determine if defects similar to those identified in Unit 2 exist. The results indicate that similar defects do not exist in the welds for the Unit 1 girders.
